Customers often rave about our in-house hummus (or chick-pea spread)
at the Water Shed – we serve two kinds – sundried tomato & plain hummus with an assortment of fresh vegetables or corn chips. Hummus is incredibly easy to make and I thought in preparation for our Greek Community meal that I would share the recipe with you. So here we go:
1 can of drained chick peas
2 cloves of garlic
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
4-5 tblsp of lemon juice (about 2 lemon”s worth)
2/3 cup olive oil
To add a twist in flavor either add
1/2 cup sundried tomatoes
2 tblsp fresh dill & 3-4 leaves of fresh mint
Throw everything in a food processor aside from the oil. Turn on the processor and slowly add the oil. Its should all mix together to a nice thick consistency. And that”s it!
Any problems then don”t hesitate to ask or leave a comment below. As you get more confident with making it you can season with your own flavourings.
Good luck and maybe see some of you at the Greek meal!
